WormBoss was developed by the Australian Sheep Industry Cooperative Research Centre (Sheep CRC 1) and Australian Wool Innovation with the support of Animal Health Alliance, in 2005.
It was further developed during the term of the Cooperative Research Centre for Sheep Industry Innovation (Sheep CRC 2) by its partner organisations
Both Sheep CRCs were funded by the Commonwealth Government's Cooperative Research Program and the partner organisations.
Initial funding is provided by Australian Wool Innovation and Meat and Livestock Australia.
The University of New England manages ParaBoss (WormBoss, FlyBoss and LiceBoss) and provides in-kind support.
On 6 November 2016 WormBoss was expanded to include goats.
The addition of goat information to the WormBoss web site was supported by the Goat Industry Council of Australia and funded by Meat and Livestock Australia through the project ‘Expansion of WormBoss Website to Include Goats B.GOA.0120’.
